Game source code
« on: December 21, 2011, 07:03:45 AM »
I study Computer Science. I'd love to get the source code of this very old and unsuccessful game. We could improve it a bit, maybe get some texture filtering or improve their resolution. Do you guys think the source code is there somewhere? I hope it isn't lost forever

As far as I know the source code is lost, I think I recall someone saying they emailed Janus Anderson, and he didn't have any copies/backups.

So bad... How about the full game (not rip) and manual?

I don't know, something like 70 copies were sold in total, we're pretty lucky to have a full version rip as it is.

I really hope we can find someone with a proper copy.

Lysle does still have the source, but he can't release it.
According to one of my old 2008 emails, anyway.

Did he say why?

Such a shame, a port would be awesome.

Legal reasons, which could be anything, like joint ownership between others or something.

Don't quote me on that. My personal speculation about the reason is the HMI library dependency encumbering it much like DMX did to Doom, Heretic and Hexen.

Yep, legal issues are now resolved.  We're moving forward.

This is music to my ears. I haven't been this excited for AA since I found a pirated full version after years of playing the demo.
