Sources of acid protection?

How do you avoid having your equipment eaten as a melee class? Switch to crossbow and dodge?

The wiki says an amulet of acid protection exists. Where can I find one?

There are no potions or scrolls of acid protection, right? Would be great if they did. Although putting the acid protection amulet in the story after Q3 would do the trick too.
You say "potion of food". I say "yoghurt".

I believe the amulet is only found in the last quest. There should be scrolls of protection but I don't remember off hand where to find one. The spell Harden Self is the most common protection and it is a priest spell.

Keep in mind that in the original release of the game there was a glitch that items could still dissolve even if you have acid protection. This should have been fixed in the latest community edition.

For plate classes, the best protection is also the best chest armor - Adamantium. I have never seen acid work with it on. It is, however, decently hidden, expectably late. Good reason to skip to the final 2 quests when you start encountering acid mages - those quests don't have much a plate class REALLY needs urgently.
